I had 2000 professional on my computer and it was affected with Virus Last week. Now it fails to detect the hard disk. In the CMOS setting my Primary master model No. which was supposed to be Maxtor 2F040L0 has been changed to Maxtor ARES C64K. I cant edit this value. It just blinks. What is the status of my hard disk? will be i able to correct it.
Thanks

I find quite a few references on Google to this series, this one seems very informative.

I'm sure the Maxtor site must have some information on this too.
