After recently using system restore, I am now experiencing difficulties opening any programs on the desktop. Although they can still be accessed perfectly by using the start button, if I click on say Internet explorer once, the icon disapears shortly followed by an error message saying "Windows explorer had encontered a problem, and we apologise for any inconvenience" etc etc and asks if i wish to send an error report. This happens when clicking any icon ie quicktime, iTunes etc. Any idea what is wrong? OR how to fix? Cheers, Dovmob.

First lets look for missing\corrupt System files
Follow the steps below:
Start->Run. Type cmd. Press Enter.
In the Command-Prompt Window, type sfc /SCANONCE. Press Enter.
Follow the instructions by the System File Checker.
(Note:The scan will done on next reboot, so u will be prompted for a reboot.)
