windows xp will not shut down. i have to shut it down manually, on the restart, it then gives out checking disc and then comes up with, dirty volume 2414-1A08

First of all we need to check whether ur Hard-disk really is damaged.
Follow steps below for all the partitions on ur Hard-drive:
Start -> Run.
Type: cmd.
Press <enter>.
In the command-prompt windows type: chkdsk x: /f.
(where is x: is to be replaced by all the drive-letters on ur hard-drive one-by-one seprately.)
Press <enter>

If chkdsk does'nt find any errors, follow the steps below:
Start -> Run.
Type: eventvwr.msc.
Press <enter>
In all the logs look for events that have occured at the same time as you shutdown your PC, list all these events in your next post.
You don't need to list the full event here, just the event-no. and the Source will do.

i don't know if this helps you, i downloaded drvcarevista5 two days ago, and then is when the trouble started. well here go's

there are pages full of all these, i have just given you the larest ones

I am not aware of drvcarevista5 can you tell me what it is?
Is drvcarevista5 in the Source filed of these events?
