Do you see anything that even closely resembles it?

Well lets see if we can delete that invisible file....lol


Boot into safe mode.


Go to start>run and type in CMD, then hit ok

Type the following:

cd C:\

then enter>

cd windows

then enter>

cd system32

then enter>

attrib -r -s -h n?tdde.exe

then enter>

del n?tdde.exe

then enter

Close out the Dos window.

Reboot and run the bat again please.

It still shows in Hijackthis, but it on startup, lets see if it goes.....

Shut down any anti spwyare/virus you have on, when you get into safe mode


Please read this post completely, it may make it easier for you if you copy and paste this post to a new text document or print it for reference later.

1. Click this link to be sure you can view hidden files.

2. Ensure you are NOT connected to the internet.

3. Reboot into safe mode.

Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

4. Close all browsers, windows and unneeded programs.

5. Open HiJack and do a scan.

6. Put a Check next to the following items:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NI.UWFX5LP_0001_0803] "C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\CONFLICT.2\UWFX5LP_0001_0803NetInstaller.exe"
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Bkgfrxbp] C:\WINDOWS\System32\n?tdde.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Ncao] C:\Program Files\nrpn\osoa.exe

7. click the Fix Checked box

8. Delete Files:
  • Open HiJackThis
  • Click on the configure button on the bottom right
  • Click on the tab "Misc Tools"
  • Click on "Delete File on Reboot"
  • Navigate to this file - C:\Program Files\nrpn\osoa.exe
  • Double click on that file.
  • HJT asks you if you want to reboot, now. Click "no".

    Do that for the following files also, until you get to the last one, then click "yes" when HJT asks you to reboot.
C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\CONFLICT.2\UWFX5LP_0001_0803NetInstaller.exe

9. Run the program CleanUp!

10. Reboot into normal mode and please run this online virus scan: ActiveScan - Save the results from the scan!

11. Please post a fresh HiJackThis log. Let me know how your computer is running.

These items did not appear in HJT:

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Bkgfrxbp] C:\WINDOWS\System32\n?tdde.exe

Additionally, this did not appear in the nrpn folder: osoa.exe

and the WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files contains nothing even remotely resembling this: CONFLICT.2\UWFX5LP_0001_0803NetInstaller.exe

The one suspicious thing in this folder ia the "blank" named item at the top. the status of which is 'damaged'.

I am running ActiveScan now, and will report back soon with the results, plus a new HJT log. The WinFixer didn't try to install on reboot, but we've been down this path already right? :tazz:

You can delete that folder. C:\Program Files\nrpn

And if that other one said damamged, you might want to get rid of it

Post a fresh Hijackthis log with the active scan log to :tazz:

Very interesting ActiveScan results, even for a non-geek (well, semi- compu geek I guess) like me! Aurora I've heard of, and I've seen the FunWebProducts folder on my compu for some time now (way before WinFixer2005). I run Spybot and Ad-Aware regularly, have a MacAfee sunscription etc., but I wasn't sure (suspected) that was some ad/spy infection. EDIT: oh yeah, and that SAHAgent's something that Spybot detects but can't clean, is that that bundle.exe crap I remember from a few years back? Anyways, there's more than that, here's the ActiveScan log and HJT:

Please download the Killbox.

Open kill box and check off replace on reboot. Make sure "Use Dummy" is also checked

copy these:

C:\Program Files\nrpn\osoa.exe
C:\WINDOWS\INF\banner.inf
C:\WINDOWS\INF\bi3.inf
C:\WINDOWS\System32\n?tdde.exe


Paste them in "Full Path of File to Deleted"

Click the red-and-white "Delete File" button. Click "Yes" at the Delete on Reboot prompt

upon reboot delete these two folders:

C:\PROGRAM FILES\FunWebProducts
C:\Program Files\nrpn

An error message appeared upon reboot (16 Bit MS-DOS Subsystem):

C:\PROGRA~1\Symantec\S32EVNT1.DLL An installable Virtual Device Driver failed Dll initialization. Chose 'Close' to termiante the application.

I selected 'Ignore'.

open Hijackthis and do a scan. Please check off the following items:

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Bkgfrxbp] C:\WINDOWS\System32\n?tdde.exe

click FIX CHECKED then close Hijackthis

delete C:\Program Files\nrpn folder

open kill box, go to file , then delete all dummie files.

reboot and post a fresh HiJackthis log.

I think you should shut your computer off and never turn it on again!!! That way it will never come back!

I had you download a zip file of netdde.exe. Unzip it and make sure that gets back in the system32 folder

open Hijackthis and do a scan. Please check off the following items:

O8 - Extra context menu item: &Search - http://bar.mywebsear...html?p=ZSzeb029

click FIX CHECKED then close Hijackthis

Great job, it appears your computer is clean :tazz:

Ensure you rehide your “hidden files and folders” back to the way they were.

Now that your system is Malware Free, it is important to reset your system Restore. Click Here to learn how to.

I recommend that you Defrag your computer before setting your Restore points:

Go to start>all programs>accessories>system tools>Disk Defragmentor Make sure it set to the proper drive (default should be your main driver) and click on defragment


Might I suggest the following Free Spyware programs, if you don't already have them, for added security, you can download them at the following links. These programs work great for detection:

Ad-aware SE
Spybot S&D
Microsoft Anti-Spyware


If you are unhappy with your current antivirus and want to replace it or if you dont already have one, I suggest one of these free programs:
*Note - do not use more than one anti-virus program as it will more than likely cause conflict.

AVG
Avast
AntiVir


The following free programs are great for prevention:

SpywareBlaster 3.4
Spywareguard
IE/Spyad

A Firewall is a must! Here are 3 good free versions:
(do not have more than one firewall running on your system)

Sygate
Kerio
ZoneLabs

There are other options other than Internet Explorer for a browser, which some say have better security. Two of them are:

Firefox
Opera

If you decide to keep Internet Explorer, This site is a great source for tightening up security on It's settings.

Make sure that you keep your Operating System and IE updated with the latest Critical Security Updates from Microsoft...they usually come out once a month, on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.

Be sure and give the Temp folders a cleaning out now and then as well, Make sure after you clean your Temp files to empty out your Recycle bin as well.
For ease use the following program:

Cleanup
Run "Cleanup" and when it has finished, Reboot
