I had to replce an internal tape drive that went bad after 5 years. I replced it with an external USB but my Backup Exec software won't recognize it. I have downloaded Stomp' Backup My PC and it also can't find it. Is it possible to assign a drive letter to a USB port like my D: CD drive where it can be viewed through explorer? Any other suggestions?

Yes and I can find the Tape Backup through device manager. It appears to be working fine.
