Have office small business edition 2003 , in word i have letterheads in header and footers with clip art and word art , when i open document i cant see logos or clip art on screen , if i open veiw and click markup they appear . any ideas on how to return to normal veiw as once i close header and footer they disapear again

You could try selecting Print Layout from the view menu. I don't have 2003, but I imagine that this would be available in 2003.
