Hi NvidiaDude...
I've been running a free version of Avast on my test box for quite a while. It has an easy interface and has proven to be effective at finding and preventing infections. On my personal machine I'm running Norton IS 2005...I've never had an infection while running the Norton Software (5 years of various versions). There...ya got my two cents worth...It's pretty much a matter of personal preference.

Are you only looking for an Antivirus? I also suggest to Anti-Spyware and Anti-Adware! You can find some good tools here. And the others from Keith's Site!!! You might want to get the following:
Ad-aware
SpyBot S&D
SpywareBlaster
CCLeaner <-- To clean temporary files!!!
And most importantly a Anti-Virus!!
