can i stop my old onboard sound card from startup?

Hi , as i bought my pc it had a rubbish onboard sound card instead i bought a PCI SOUND CARD which is brilliant on sound. but i think my old onboard was Realtek and the name is : ALCXMNTR.exe thats what i found in msconfig will it be ok to stop if from starting up when i start Windows Xp Home ? :tazz:

You can also boot the PC, keep tapping del right after the beep to enter set up then look through the options to disable onboard sound, make sure you press F10 or whatever to save the changes
