Hi,

I'm new to the forum. I came across many of the forum posts as I have been trying to clean my dad's computer. (I'm trying to access his computer remotely using GoToMyPC, which adds a little complexity.) I have used AdAware and some other tools recommended on this forum to clean a lot of the junk removed but I have not been able to clean 2 viruses that Norton detects...

trojan.desktophijack.b and w32.desktophijack
the problem files appear to be wininet.dll and oleadm.dll

Norton Antivirus 2005 detects the viruses, but it can't fix, quarantine or delete the files. (It says "access to the file was denied")

My dad's computer has Windows 2000 Professional w/ SP3. (I can't load SP4 because the wininet.dll file is in use.)

Any help on how I can get rid of this nastiness would be appreciated.
