I've finally made the switch from dial-up to DSL. But I'm disappointed with the frequent hangups in the transmitting of data to my computer from various web sites. Usually hitting refresh makes the data come on thru. Otherwise it just stays hungup. Is this the norm? Any tips would be appreciated. Window XP

No help coming in on this topic. So, I found that by going to tools/internet options/advanced and unchecking everything except: install on demand, enable 3rd party browsers extensions, show go in address bar, Use JRE 1.50 for Java, enable image toolbar, show pictures, and on Security use SSl 2.0 and SSl 3.0 and when these were checked that downloads went thru without stalling. Also found that for Windows Updates to work I had to check Use HTTP 1.1 but when I'm thru checking for updates uncheck it again or downloads would start stalling again requiring frequent refreshes.
That's what works on my computer using XP and Zone Alarm. Deactivating ZA had no effect on the stalling.
