Is there a Antivirus on the Windows 98 computer?

Maybe it's best top post a HijackThis log for it.
Then we can have a look and decide what might be best suited for your problem(s)

There is absolutely no malware to be found running on that computer.
At least from the looks of that log.
Is there any particular reason to assume there is?

Popups, heavy traffic (maybe a firewall would be a good idea)

No..Just when you log on the internet or travel around the system ( programs and such) it operates slowly trying to pull up/open any windows. Is that due to the Pent 2 and a 1998 edition gateway g6-350 with windows 98 and 32mb ram?

I posted a topic yesterday about usb vs ethernet, could that be why its a little slower?
I have ethernet running from a router to this system but it converts to usb prior to the pc.

Maybe the system is just old?.... :tazz:

Are you familiar with the game runescape? This system wil not run the game from the internet but my Dell will. It keeps timing out on the start up download?

I'm afraid that the system is too slow to run Windows and the heavy security that is asked for nowadays. At least if you want to play games or expect it to be fast.

Personally I'd turn it into a Linux box and put it to use as such. Then use the XP computer you have for the gaming and stuff.
