Have you installed any new programs of any sort? You have a lot of installed stuff, it's likely two programs trying to load libraries into the same part of memory. What about malware? Any indications?

No indications of any malware. I ALWAYS run ADAWARE and am very careful about downloading /sharing etc... I've never actually had any. Recently installed a new modem and a recent MS windows update was performed. Other than that, no. I run proxyconn accellorator and callwave but I've never had any problems with any of it. Ray

I was able to fix the same problem by uninstalling the google toolbar. According to Google, the toolbar is self updating, so you should always have the latest version or close to it. I think google introduced a problem when self-updating. It looks like the problem is resolved by uninstalling and reinstalling the toolbar.

Try to uninstall the goolge toolbar, and you would open THE browser IE6.0 .

Just a quick question:

Why do you have a Mcaffee entry {R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyOverride = clinic.mcafee.com; bin.mcafee.com; download.mcafee.com;<local>} if you are running Symantec/Norton products? Plus, this entry appears to be overriding your proxy settings........

plus, if you insist on running multiple IM clients, don't let them clutter your system startup, much like the "Berkshire.net" clutter
