IE Won't stay open

Ran Spybot and Adaware as well as NAV. Nav found Trojan Confirm[1].htm and quarantined it.

IE opens when launched, stays open for a few seconds and then closes. I can open Outlook and browse from in there.

I tried to load the latest Critical Update from WindowsUpdate but get 0x8007045A error.

I'm now using Mozilla Firefox, but can't load Windows Updates with it.

I also found today that I can't print, or define a printer on my home network. HP JetAdmin can't see the JetDirect printer even though I can ping it and telnet to it in Admin mode.

As far as I know the Recycle Bin is working. I usually keep it empty.

I don't see any sign of active infection. You may have some system file corruption. Try Start -> Run, type SFC /SCANNOW have you XP CD ready.
