i tried to remove it as pc-cillin was designed to do and failed, then i tried manually following the command line to find the file and delete it, but pc-cillin was still attempting to kill it so i could not, because it was being used. how should i go about removing this threat, i thought it might ber possible if i turn off pc-cillin, but i'm pretty sure that would make things worse, mainly because the last line of defense would be crippled and it could spread like a plague. any suggestions?

Howdy:
Please go to the malware forum in my signature and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE .
That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.
If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.

sorry, didn't really think to scan the rest of the forum, pc-cillin seems to have contained and quarantined the problem though.
