AIM sign-in is fine. Buddy list appears fine. When I double-click on a buddy in the list, a message window appears, then freezes, followed by window appearing and stating "AOL Instant Messenger has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

Button choices in this window are "Debug" or "Close". Debug does nothing. With Close, a second window appears with the title bar "[I]CiceroUIWFrame: aim.exe - Application Error"

And a warning within the window of "The instruction as '0x00f38d8a' referenced memory at '0x00efffa8'. The memory could not be 'written' ". Click on OK to terminate the program.

Clicking OK then closes AIM.

This is the only program or application on this PC which elicits this problem.

Please help!!
Thanks, bk
