hi, having major problems for couple of weeks now.
I am online and can send and receive emails and google etc.
I cannot log into any safe sites, "connection refused" or it asks me to connect
have symantec 8 at the moment and it cannot update through automatic updates 'connection to server failed "
however I can get into the site through google and manually update.
windows has not been updated though.

I did found a virus "Csrss.exe" ( w32.Chod@mm) which was deleted after may trys at it with a removal tool, it kept reinstalling itself and hiding.

I have done lots of scans, have xoftspy, adaware, microsoft antispyware.

I ran panda software, and loads of other ones that are available on the net.

firewall is checked, so it wil let these programs run, checked the firewall on the modem. its a Linksys wireless - G "wag54G "
even took the modem off and tried on dial-up to check if it might have been the modem

Now I still cannot log on.
I have a Norton Internet security on this pc. It wont let me uninstal it andwhen I open it it comes up with "unable to start intergrator, get tech support" but connection is refused to that site.

so I dont know what else to do. I think I still have a hacker problem, at the windows firewall the filesharing option gets enabled ,(I keep disabling it all the time)

so please help, thank you

I suggest you START HERE and go through the manual fixes on your own and if you are still having problems, then post a hijackthis log in the malware forum

Hi Jarenien,
I have been following the steps, I have no problem downloading these programs, but they wont update, then it comes up with " site not found" or connection refused"
I do have Symantec antivirus corporate edition 8.25.2005 rev 9
I have been downloading the updates manually
I already had manually downloaded sp2 before.
spybot failed to load ZIPDLL.DLL and UNZDLL.DLL


Ewido Security Suite went haywire and in the end clocked up over 52000 items, which it would not clear and froze. I managed to close it.

so what to do next? thanks
