After allowing someone to use my computer (when I was not home) I ended up with a bad bout with the PSGuard virus (and several others -- I think).

I ran HijackThis, AdAware, SpyBot, Panda Active Scan & the SmitRen programs and believe that I got most, if not all, of the virus(es) deleted and/or quarantined. My problem is this:

Whenever I reboot my computer, I receive an error msg that the file "wininet.dll" is missing from the Windows/System folder. I reinstalled IE 6.0 (including the Service Pack upgrade from Microsoft) and this replaced the missing file. But... it is deleted each and every time I reboot.

I've resorted to saving a copy of the file on my desktop so I can replace it (just to get online, etc.) but obviously this is not a long-term solution.

In addition, at each reboot, I get a small error box that appears (while my Startup programs are loading). This box states: "Value cannot be null. Parameter name: Path 1" I have to click OK (no other option given)

Due to these issues, I'm concerned that I have not fully contained/deleted the viruses from my system. Any help would be appreciated.

Here is the most recent HijackThis log file (08/28/05):
