Please download the Killbox by Option^Explicit.
  • Save it to your desktop.

  • Run Killbox.exe.

  • Select "Delete on Reboot".

  • Copy the file names below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them then press CTRL + C

    C:\WINDOWS\System32\hclean32.exe
    C:\Windows\System32\csfco.exe

  • Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose "Paste from Clipboard".

  • Click the red-and-white "Delete File" button. Click "Yes" at the Delete on Reboot prompt.
    If your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.

  • After reboot, post a new HiJackThis log here.

For some reason, the Killbox "paste from clipboard" function isn't working for me, so I can't get these files into Killbox:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\hclean32.exe
C:\Windows\System32\csfco.exe

Any suggestions??? And yes, I've properly copied them onto the clipboard (CTRL + C)

I need you to try something for me please. Try just copying one of them, not both and see if you can paste from clipboard.

Then, try copying to clipboard and then placing your cursor into the killbox typebox and press Ctrl+V

We learn every day. This is a first for me.

1. Download the following program HOSTER.

2. Unzip and run the program.

3. You will be presented with a screen where you will find the following option:Restore Microsoft Original Hosts. Press it and Close the program.

4. Reboot your system.

5. Finally, run HijackThis , click SCAN, produce a LOG and POST it in this thread for review.[/CODE]


Note: We will try another method for the "hclean.exe" infection

1. Download and Save Backlight to your desktop.
  • Doubleclick blbeta.exe
  • Accept the agreement
  • Leave [X]scan through Windows Explorer checked
  • Click scan > next.
2. You'll see a list of all the items it found.
  • There will also be a log on your desktop with the name fsbl.xxxxxxx.log (where xxxxxxx represents numbers)
  • The application finds both bad files and legitimate ones such as "wbemtest.exe"
  • DO NOT choose the rename option yet
3. Copy and paste the log it generated in your next reply.

Download Killbox here: http://www.downloads...org/KillBox.exe and put it on your desktop

Open Killbox

Check the following boxes:

Standard File Kill
End Explorer Shell While Killing file

Copy & paste the full path of each of the files below into the Killbox topmost box.

C:\WINDOWS\System32\hclean32.exe


With the full path to the file name in the topmost textbox, Click the Red X ...and for the confirmation message that will appear, you will need to click Yes

It may not delete.

If it doesn't delete, use killbox to delete the files you were not able to delete as follows:

Open Killbox

Check the following boxes:

Delete on Reboot

With the full path to the file name in the topmost textbox. Click the Red X ...and for the confirmation message that will appear, you will need to click Yes

A second message will ask to Reboot now? you will need to click Yes

Note: Killbox will let you know if the file does not exist.

After the reboot scan with hijackthis and fix the following if they are still listed

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [hclean32.exe] C:\WINDOWS\System32\hclean32.exe

Reboot and Post a new hijackthis log
