Right-clicks in Windows Explorer causing it to close, often bringing up an error pertaining to "Dr Watson Post-Mortem Debugger." Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here's the log.

Did you add this into your hosts file?

If not, ceck and fix that entry in HijackThis.

There doesn't seem to be a way around this Dr. Watson problem. I assume it's only happening on folders that have video in them? Did you install any new video codecs lately? If so, uninstall them and see if it's any better.

Also try running this and tell me if it found anything:
Download CWShredder at http://www.greyknigh.../CWShredder.exe and run it. Click on 'I Agree' button if you agree. Click on 'Fix' (it will automatically fix anything it finds for you) and then click OK. If it asks if you want to delete a certain random file, choose No and post that filename here. Let it finish the scan and then hit Next and Exit.

If all else fails, then you must uninstall XP SP2 and install XP SP1a instead. Do the updates as usual for it, just don't go to SP2. That should fix up the problem :tazz:

Thanks for the reply. The W2K host is there for a reason. CWShredder didn't find anything, and it seems to be happening with all files, not just ones with videos. Is uninstalling Service Pack 2 really my only option?

I usually ask users to do that, but if you want to keep SP2, then disable Dr. Watson to see if the problem goes away.

Go to this Microsoft Article and follow the steps outlined there.

Restart. Any problems now?
