Download sfp and unzip it to your desktop.

• Double click sfp.exe thats on your desktop
  
• In step one, please past in the following files(s):
  
  • C:\WINDOWS\Help\starter\runftp.dll
• Click "Continue"
  
• sfp will create a cab file on your desktop called requested-files (and the date)
  
• please email that file to [email protected]

Please print these instructions out for use in Safe Mode.

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.

• Double-click VundoFix.exe to extract the files.
• After the files are extracted, please reboot your computer into Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter.
• Once in safe mode open the VundoFix folder and doubleclick on KillVundo.bat
• Please type the following file path (make sure to enter it exactly as below!):
  • C:\WINDOWS\Help\starter\runftp.dll
• Press Enter, then press the F6 key, then press Enter one more time to continue with the fix.
• The fix will run then HijackThis will open.
• In HiJackThis, please place a check next to the following items and click FIX CHECKED:O20 - Winlogon Notify: runftp - C:\WINDOWS\Help\starter\runftp.dll
• After you have fixed these items, close Hijackthis and Press any key to Force a reboot of your computer.
• Pressing any key will cause a "Blue Screen of Death" this is normal, do not worry!
• Once your machine reboots please post a new HijackThis log as well as the vundofix.txt file from the vundofix folder into this topic.

Hello EXCAL

You lost me this time. When I opened KillVundo.bat, there is notwhere to type my file path C:\WINDOWS\Help\starter\runftp.dll

Once I click on any key after the Killvundo.bat opens, it immediately starts a scan of dlls and then Hijack this opens. I was not sure where or when I was supposed to type in that fie path you asked me to. Did I miss a step somwhere?

you should have a vudo folder on your desktop with the following it it:

killVundo.bat, process.exe, readme.txt, starthjt.vbs, and vundo.reg.

once oyu click on killvundo.bat a blue dos screen should popup asking you to hit enter. Once you hit enter, you should be able to type in the required file info.

Hi again

No, when I click on KillVundo.bat, I get a blue DOS screen that says
"You must have an internet connection active to download strings from systernals. If one is active then press any key to continue. It immediatley lists a few things, then says "searching for infected dlls" It scans then HIJACK THIS opens. There is no where to type in a file to fix.

Lets start over. Delete all the vundo folder and files you downloaded. and lets start again. (make sure everything is gone, then clean out your recycling bin)

Boy this just can't go smoothly for us.

I did as you asked, but KillVundo.bat program could not locate the filepath that you indicated. I typed it in just as you listed. Then it said that Hijack this would run, but it never did. Instead it siad to reboot press enter, which I did. Hijack this never kicked in. So I did not fix the item you indicated,

ANy problem finding all the Vundo Fix and zip that you downloaded to delete? It is very important that they were all deleted before the new was one downloaded again.

Go back and delete everything realted to the vundo fix. Double check.

then we will try it one more time, if no success, we will try manually deleting the files.
