pxe-e61 media test failure

i have a dell optiplex gx1 that crashed with the install of another hard drive. i tried to install xp pro again, but i got pxe-e61 media test failure. so i turned off the lan and rebooted, still have the same problem. some one help me please

I do beleive that media test failure means the media descriptor on the hard drive is corrupt, please correct me if I'm wrong. Did you by any chance run the thorough scan disk on the drive after it was formatted and before you installed? Is this a new or used drive?
