Hello!

All of a sudden today I got a couple of Windows type error messages asking me to download WInfixer 2005. I canceled the requests.

So that stopped happening. But when running Interent Explorer I'm noticing pop up windows opening. Some fro a travel agency, some for dating....

I've followed the instructions posted here and still it's happening.

• Run HijackThis
  
• Click SCAN and SAVE LOG. (a notepad window will open with the log in it when you click Save Log) (Ctrl-A to'select all', Ctrl-C to 'copy')
  
• POST the log into this thread using 'Add Reply' (Ctrl-V to 'paste')

DO NOT MAKE ANY CHANGES OR CLICK "FIX CHECKED" UNTIL WE CHECK THE LOG, AS MOST OF THE FILES ARE LEGIT AND VITAL TO THE FUNCTION OF YOUR COMPUTER

• Once the computer is rebooted post a new HiJackThis log as well as the contents of vundofix.txt which can be found in this folder: C:\VundoFix

A. To stop a service and set to 'disabled'

• Go to Start > Run and type in Services.msc then click OK
  
• Click the Extended tab.
  
• Scroll down until you find the service.
  ===> Intel NCS NetService
  
• Click once on the service to highlight it.
  
• Click Stop
  
• Right-Click on the service.
  
• Click on 'Properties'
  
• Select the 'General' tab
  
• Click the Arrow-down tab on the right-hand side on the 'Start-up Type' box
  
• From the drop-down menu, click on 'Disabled'
  
• Click the 'Apply' tab, then click 'OK'

The service is now stopped and disabled.


B. We will now delete the service:

1. Open HJT

2. Click on Config>>Misc Tools>>Delete an NT Service

3. Copy/Paste NetSvc in the space provided and click OK

4. The program will ask you to REBOOT --- Accept

5. REBOOT into SAFE MODE

6. Using Windows Explorer, locate and DELETE the following file (if it still is present):

C:\Program Files\Intel

7. REBOOT back into Normal Mode

8. Finally, run HijackThis, click SCAN, produce a LOG and POST it in this thread for review.

New Vundo fix as of 30 minutes ago. Please follow all these steps religiously.

Please print these instructions out for use in Safe Mode.

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.

• Double-click VundoFix.exe to extract the files.
• After the files are extracted, please reboot your computer into Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter.
• Once in safe mode open the VundoFix folder and doubleclick on KillVundo.bat
• Please type the following file path (make sure to enter it exactly as below!):
  
  
  • C:\WINDOWS\Help\Tours\javadb.dll
• Press Enter, then press the F6 key, then press Enter one more time to continue with the fix.
• The fix will run then HijackThis will open.
• In HiJackThis, please place a check next to the following items and click FIX CHECKED:
  
  O2 - BHO: MSEvents Object - {827DC836-DD9F-4A68-A602-5812EB50A834} - C:\WINDOWS\Help\Tours\javadb.dll
  O20 - Winlogon Notify: javadb - C:\WINDOWS\Help\Tours\javadb.dll
  
  
• After you have fixed these items, close Hijackthis and Press any key to Force a reboot of your computer.
• Pressing any key will cause a "Blue Screen of Death" this is normal, do not worry!
• Once your machine reboots please post a new HijackThis log as well as the vundofix.txt file from the vundofix folder into this topic.

Hello again. Thanks for the advice, but When I type in "C:\WINDOWS\Help\Tours\javadb.dll"
then hit enter, F6, Enter, nothing happens.

I've tried numerous times, but just keep getting a flashing cursor.

It is at the flashing cursor that you type in the full path of the offending file.
