I'm completly new to Linux From Scratch, and I downloaded and booted from the LiveCD. On this computer (The computer I'm buliding the system for) it has no OS. I know there is a way but the book doesn't seem to cover it.. :tazz:

Does anybody know how to save LFS to your hard drive? I have a blank drive at this point, on this system.

That's a very good question, but since you have a blank drive you don't have much to lose if it doesn't work right the first time, just try something else. If you have software that came with your drive, or can download it from the drive maker's site, it may be able to write an image from a CD to a hard disk. I know that Max Blast 4 from Maxtor can. You will need to have a second computer, the one you're on now? to run the software and copy the image. There's no guarantee whaatever that it will work, but you may be able to download an installation iso and burn it to disk and run it.

I downloaded the liveCD with success and the book says you can get the LIVECD to work and run a fully functional system on a computer with nothing on it too.
I did burn it to a disc, the LIVECD, now I'm just wondering whats next, how do I get it to boot without the CD, so I can work and save my changes? Or are you saying there is an installation ISO also o_O? Thank you!

I could only find the book and the livecd on the LFS website. I'm just trying to figure out how to get the LIVECD to work of the harddrive.
