res://C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SHDOCLC.DLL/dnserror.htm Is keeping me from accessing websites through Internet Explorer 6. It started out as 404ads, but somehow I removed that and the problem turned into a dsnerror. If you could please help me identify the problem and/or get rid of any other bad things in my HJT log, I would be most thankful!

Hi 5thStreet, could you please submit this file in bold:
C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\T8L.EXE to:
http://www.kaspersky.com/scanforvirus

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.
O2 - BHO: Setup.Setup1 - {2E65A557-173C-4DE9-860B-28FC5CACA542} - C:\WINDOWS\ALL USERS\APPLICATION DATA\SETUP\SETUP.DLL
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SVAPlayer] C:\Program Files\SVA Player\SVAPLAYER.EXE
O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {CD67F990-D8E9-11d2-98FE-00C0F0318AFE} - (no file)
O14 - IERESET.INF: START_PAGE_URL=http://hp.my.yahoo.com

Reboot your PC.

Please reboot into safe mode (continually tap the F8 key while your system is starting, select Safe Mode from the menu).
Be sure you're able to view hidden files, and remove the following files in bold (if found):
C:\Program Files\SVA Player\SVAPLAYER.EXE
This is known spyware!

Reboot your PC.

If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log in this same topic, and let us know how your system's working. :tazz:

I tried to scan the T8L.exe file, but it I could not locate it in C:\WINDOWS\TEMP. Also, after I rebooted in safe mode, SVAplayer.exe was nowhere to be found. I did however find SVAplayer.dll-- should I delete that?

As for the progress, my IE 6 still comes up with the res://C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SHDOCLC.DLL/dnserror.htm error and a "Internet Explorer could not open the search page." error message-- allowing me still to visit no websites. Is there anything else I can do?
