I am aware that heat can be an issue on this cpu, but think the case and the extra fans might keep it cool enough at standard settings, but would appreciate any advice on a good fan or heatsink/fan combo for this board. Also, if anyone has any opinions about the RAM choice, let me know what you would recommend. Thanks in advance for your input----Jayb

It looks ok, the HSF you get with the CPU is enough to handle the temperatures and maintain them in an acceptable range. For overclocking you woukd need something a bit better, but there shouldnt be a need to do so.

if you wanna chill your system down a bit more get a thermal take case, i got one and it cooled the CPU down by 10-14c, thats quite alot in relative terms, plus the fan i got with my CPU was crap (it sat at 52c with the fan i was given, not good enough).

Just to say there is some cheaper dvd burners out there that work just fine i have an hp 640 lightscribe and also a cheap samsung i baught $55 or something i think and icant find to much of a difference no big deal either way
