1 file copied.
1 file copied.
Please wait until this dos window closes... post the contents of c:\log.tx

Make sure you are disconnected from the Internet and that all programs and windows are closed.

Run HiJackThis. Place a check next to the following items and click FIX CHECKED:

O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{19D65FDA-8729-4BD0-A7B9-E3C8EAED5943}: NameServer = 195.95.218.52,85.255.112.16
O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{BECE0D35-D8F4-43CC-B718-8E40F10469C1}: NameServer = 195.95.218.52,85.255.112.16
O17 - HKLM\System\CS1\Services\Tcpip\..\{19D65FDA-8729-4BD0-A7B9-E3C8EAED5943}: NameServer = 195.95.218.52,85.255.112.16

Close HiJackThis.

Now lets check some settings on your system.
  • Go to Start > Control Panel and double-click on Network Connections
  • Then right click on your Default Connection
    • Usually Local Area Connection for Cable and DSL
  • Left click on Properties.
  • Click the Networking tab.
  • Double-Click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item.
  • Select the radio dial that says Obtain DNS Servers Automatically.
  • Press OK twice to get out of the properties screen and reboot if it asks.
Make sure to reboot and post back a new HiJackThis log into this topic.

Regards,

Trevuren

Now for a big cleanup before we tackle the last major infection

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order in which they are mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes.
  • First we need to make all files and folders VISIBLE:
    • Go to start>control panel>folder options>view (tab)
    • Choose to "show hidden files and folders,"
    • Uncheck the "hide protected operating system files" and the "hide extensions for know file types" boxes.
    • Close the window with ok
  • Please RUN HijackThis.
. Click the SCAN button to produce a log.

  • Place a check mark beside each one of the following items:

    R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {D2488AAC-A140-6532-BD4B-A10A7353F5F7} - ftbar.dll (file missing)

Please Download the following tools to assist us in removing this infection!
  • Download WinPFind
    • Right Click the Zip Folder and Select "Extract All"
    • Extract it somewhere you will remember like the Desktop
    • Dont do anything with it yet!
  • Download Trackgoo
    • Save it somewhere you will remember like the Desktop
Reboot into Safe Mode

Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

Doubleclick WinPFind.exe
  • Click "Start Scan"
  • It will scan the entire System, so please be patient!
  • Once the Scan is Complete
  • Go to the WinPFind folder
  • Locate WinPFind.txt
  • Place those results in the next post!
Reboot back to Normal Mode!

Double Click on "Track qoo.vbs"

Note - If you Antivirus has Script Blocking, you will get a Pop Up Windows asking you what to do. Allow this Entire Script to Run, its harmless!

Wait a few seconds and a notepad page will pop up. Copy & Paste those results and place them in the next post along with the results of WinPFind!

Regards,

Trevuren

WARNING: not all files found by this scanner are bad. Consult with a knowledgable person before proceeding.

If you see a message in the titlebar saying "Not responding..." you can ignore it. Windows somethimes displays this message due to the high volume of disk I/O. As long as the hard disk light is flashing, the program is still working properly.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order in which they are mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes.

1. Download Pocket KillBox from here. There is a Direct Download and a description of what the Program does inside this link.

2. Please open Notepad, and copy/paste the code in the box below into a new text file. Save it as KillQoo.reg (set Filetype to "All Files") and save it on your Desktop. NOTE: The word REGEDIT4 is part of the text to be copied

REGEDIT4

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\nkynykst]

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{a080fc5e-62ac-4e1a-852e-2d1bf735e571}]

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\nkynyk]

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{19db0b28-673e-47f0-b2fa-331a92f1e150}]

3. Open Pocket Killbox
  • Copy & Paste the entries below into the "Full Path of File to Delete"

    C:\WINDOWS\System32\pztptz.exe
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\strings.exe
    C:\Documents and Settings\Eric Peppers\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\strings.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\ekmem.dll
    C:\Windows\System32\wtcpl.cpl
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\kcak.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Twhyqjk1.xml
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\vxh8jkdq5.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\wbdbase.deu

  • As you Paste each entry into Killbox, place a check beside any of these Selections available:
    • "Delete on Reboot"
    • "Unregister .dll before Deleting"
  • Click the Red Circle with the White X in the Middle to Delete!

  • REBOOT in Safe Mode and Run those files through Killbox once more to be sure nothing survived.

*This time place a checkmark by any of these selections available:
    • "Standard File Kill"
