Hi. I hope you can help. I just spent the last several hours going through every step contained in "You must read this before posting a Hijack log" including running AdAware, Spybot, Trojan hunter, ewido, etc... I rebooted and was bombarded with pop ups and the ever present WinFixer 2005 Installer box (of which I have three icons in the tray at the bottom right of my screen). I'm desparate. • Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:

• Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe.
  
• Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then OPEN the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop.
  
• Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #"1" for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing Enter.
  
• This will scan your computer and it may appear as if nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, Notepad will open with a log.
  
• Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.

• From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing "2" and then pressing ENTER.
  
• Then press any key to reboot your computer.
  
• After a reboot, your desktop and icons will appear, then disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer.
  
• When it's finished, Notepad will open with a log.
  
• Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder unless you are asked to do so!

I think I did this correctly. I rec'd a couple of error messages right after reboot and before scan. Didn't catch what they said. Here's the log from the 12mfix.bat and a new HJT. Thanks.

Download LQfix.exe and place it on your desktop.

• Doubleclick LQfix.exe and click install.
• This will create a new folder called LQfix on your desktop.
• Open the folder and doubleclick ClickThis.bat
• Follow the prompts on the screen.
• Your system will reboot afterwards.

Please be patient after reboot, because there is a script running in the background.

Now, please run HJT, click SCAN and post a fresh HJT log into this thread for review.

We want to stop, disable and delete an added service (023)

A. To stop a service and set to 'disabled'

• Go to Start > Run and type in Services.msc then click OK
  
• Click the Extended tab.
  
• Scroll down until you find the service.
  ===>System Startup Service
  
• Click once on the service to highlight it.
  
• Click Stop
  
• Right-Click on the service.
  
• Click on 'Properties'
  
• Select the 'General' tab
  
• Click the Arrow-down tab on the right-hand side on the 'Start-up Type' box
  
• From the drop-down menu, click on 'Disabled'
  
• Click the 'Apply' tab, then click 'OK'

The service is now stopped and disabled.


B. We will now delete the service:

1. Open HJT

2. Click on Config>>Misc Tools>>Delete an NT Service

3. Copy/Paste SvcProc in the space provided and click OK

4. The program will ask you to REBOOT --- Accept

5. REBOOT into SAFE MODE

6. Using Windows Explorer, locate and DELETE the following file (if it still is present):

C:\WINDOWS\svcproc.exe

7. REBOOT back into Normal Mode

8. Finally, run HijackThis, click SCAN, produce a LOG and POST it in this thread for review.

Your log is essentially clear but I would like to check your whole system out.

I need you to download MWav to a convenient location.

This scan might take around 3+ hours to finish when set to scan everything. (A lot of folks let it run overnight)I need you to run MWav by double-clicking on mwav.exe. This scan only produces a report, it doesn't clean your system. I will analyze the report and recommend a course of action depending on the results.

Put a check next to the below items before scanning:

• Memory
• Startup Folders
• Drive - All Local Drives
• Folder - then click "browse" to change the directory to C: (default is C:\Windows)
• Registry
• System Folders
• Services
• Include Sub-Directory
• Scan All Files

Please make sure ALL of these are checked, then press the Scan button. This typically will take hours to complete.

**NOTE*** Sometimes MWav will pause and it appears to be finished, but it isn't done. Just let it run until it says it's complete.

On the bottom portion of the window, you will see the lower panel where MWav is listing "infected items", please highlight everything in that lower panel and copy them by holding CTRL + C then paste it here. The whole log will be extremely BIG so there is no way to post the log. I just need the infected items list.
