New Battery new problems

hey i just boughta new battery from key battery and when i put it in the LED jus blinks like it does when ther is no battery. i double checked all the numbers on the battery and they match the old one but still no luck. ay idea whats wrong?

batt=>f4809a/f4812a
14.8V 4400mAH

Do the instructions say it needs to be charged first? That sounds like what is happening.
