I have downloaded the SP1 but when I try and install it, I get the following error:-

Setup could not verify the integrity of the file Update.inf. Make sure the Cryptographic service is running on this computer.


How do solve this?

Go to Start->Run and type in services.msc and hit OK. Look for Cryptographic Service on the right pane. Make sure it's running.

I've checked and the Cryptographic Service has status as 'started' and startup type as 'automatic'. I then tried reinstalling SP1 and still get the same error message as above post.

Do you have high speed internet? If you do, get the full install file here. Just download that big file and see if you can install it now.

I've downloaded the big file and am still getting the same message about the Cryptographic service.

OK, ask this question in the Windows forum since we mainly deal with spyware/virus related issues here. Try to post back here as soon as you are done, so we can get to the bottom of this.

I really don't want to hold you too long for this, so while you are waiting for a reply in the Windows Forum, do this:

Please go HERE (Microsoft website) using Internet Explorer (not Firefox or any other browser as they won't work)

• Click on Windows Validation Assistant
• Click on the Validate Now button.
• Be patient while the ActiveX loads, do not click on any links.
• Read the instructions on this page while it's loading. You will be prompted to install - click YES.
• Enter your product key then click continue
• When it says "Validation Complete" please click Continue to return to your previous activity
• Copy what it says and paste it here.
