Dear Geeks to Go,

My computer begins to run extremely slow shortly after rebooting. I also cannot defrag or run a scandisk due to a program running in the background. I have read and executed some of your suggestions for others but I haven't been able to get the problem solved! Here is my log file from "Hijack This". I have already used Spybot and Ad-aware to clean a number of things off. Hope you can find something here to help!

Welcome jeffreyc <_<

Your log is clear except this entry:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ComcastSUPPORT] C:\Program Files\Support.com\bin\tgkill.exe /cleaneahtioga /start

Remove through add/remove programs (tgkill)

Be sure your Antivirus program has the latest definitions and run a complete system scan. If you want a second opinion there a free online virus scan here:
http://housecall.antivirus.com/

Also, trojans are sometimes missed by AV software, try The Cleaner:
http://www.moosoft.com/

Finally, if these come back negative, a non-destructive repair installation may be called for. Instructions here:
http://www.geekstogo...p?showtopic=138

Be sure to enable your XP firewall and install all critical patches as soon as completed.
