Look around in there and see if you can't find a setting for Boot Device Priority...Should have a listing that says First Boot, Second Boot, etc...

I don't see what you asked for on this window though.

If I don't show up it because I have no battery left. I've got a backup but don't know if it has power. If you lose me just forget it. I'll not have hours to spend on this.

Shouldn't take all that long once we get the drive zero'd out.

You don't have to be quite so detailed...Just the selections will do.

:tazz:
Well, here's the stupid butt operator error all the IT folk just LOVE!
Guess it works better when you not only put the floppie in the drive but PUSH it all the way in so it ACTIVATES!!! (Wow, what better way to learn how to handle morons than to work WITH a MORON!) This will be one you guys would include in the moron reruns! You should have caught this earlier!! This just toasts my cookies!

:tazz: :) :)

Using your startup floppy, restart with the floppy in the drive...when it boots to the option screen, press F5 for the A> prompt...at the prompt, type fdisk and press "Enter".

Delete all the partitions beginning with the Logical DOS and ending with the Primary DOS...rebooting between each deletion. When you are finished with this step, your HD will be as it was when you pulled it out of the box.

Put your Seagate cd in the cd-rom drive, exit fdisk (Esc) and reboot.(Remove the floppy!!

Let me know when you have completed these steps. Rule #1...when in doubt, do nothing...post back for clarification.

To start with it says I have no Logical Partitions to delete.

So I have to reboot with floppy in, let it work through to A, type fdisk, get to FDISK Options -
my only Delete option now takes me to window reading -
DELETE DOS Partition ~
Current fixed disk drive: 1

No partitions to delete.

This after one deletion

Cool! We're there then...

Pull the floppy out and put your Seagate cd in the cd-rom drive and reboot.

We haven't done anything about the zeros.
I'm removing floppy, installing CD and rebooting.

Other battery charged with 2 hours left.
