I am new to posting but I posted in another forum and said that I ran AVG scan and this is what appeared. BKDR ADBREAK.D and TROJ DLOADER.JU. It stated that this is not cleanable. I was told to run Hijack This and post the log. Well I really don't know what I am doing so I hope I did it right.

Ok I did the system restore. I no longer have the BKDR ADBREAKER.D but I still have the TROJ DLOADER.JU. Also my computer is on a wireless router. I have no idea if this matters.

We can definitely help you, but first you need to help us. The first step in this process is to apply Service Pack 1a for Windows XP. Without this update, you're wide open to re-infection, and we're both just wasting our time.
Apply the update, reboot, and post a fresh Hijack This log.

That is what caused me to realize I had a problem. I noticed that I have not been receiving my automatic updates so I went directly to the sight and tried to down load without luck. I called microsoft and I tried a few things they told me to do with no luck. I just tried to down load from Hewlett Packard website an update. It told me that it was not downloaded It said "The connection with the server was reset".

I have a trojan and I have posted in Hijack This so I don't know if I need to post here as well or not. I am new to this. When running antivirus it says that my computer is infected with TROJ DLOADER.JU. unrepairable. In the other forum it says to download microsoft updates and then they will help me. I am unable to download updates. My computer just freezes up for HOURS!! When I tried to download an update from Hewlett Packard a few minutes ago it says that it can not down load due to server being redirected!! I don't even know what this means. I am not to computer smart. I will also say that I am on a computer that has a wireless router.

Hi kakkilynn

Adaware

Download Ad-aware from: http://www.lavasoft.de/res/aaw6.exe

Install the program and launch it.

First, in the main window, look in the bottom right corner and click on Check for updates now and download the latest reference files.

Next, we need to configure Ad-aware for a full scan.

-> Click on the Gear icon (second from the left) to access the preferences/settings window

1. In the General window make sure the following are selected:
  • Automatically save log-file

  • Automatically quarantine objects prior to removal

  • Safe Mode (always request confirmation)
2. Click on the Scanning button on the left and select :
  • Scan Within Archives

  • Scan Active Processes

  • Scan Registry

  • Deep Scan Registry

  • Scan my IE favorites for banned URL’s

  • Scan my Hosts file

  • Under Click here to select drives + folders, choose:

  • All of your hard drives
-> Click on the Advanced button on the left and select:
  • Include additional process information

  • Include additional file information

  • Include environment information

  • Include additional object details
-> Click the Tweak button and select:
  • Under the Scanning Engine:
    • Unload recognized processes during scanning
    • Include basic Ad-aware settings in logfile
    • Include additional Ad-aware settings in logfile
  • Under the Cleaning Engine:
    • Let Windows remove files in use at next reboot
-> Click on Proceed to save the settings.

-> Click Start and on the next screen choose Activate in-depth Scan at the bottom of the page and then choose:
  • Use Custom Scanning Options
-> Click Next and Ad-aware will scan your hard drive(s) with the options you have selected.

-> Save the log file when it asks and then click Finish

-> When finished, mark everything for removal and get rid of it. (Right-click the window and choose Select All from the drop down menu and click Next).

-> Reboot your computer.

Please update you system http://www.microsoft...p1/default.mspx

Post a new HJT.Log when you have updated Windows

I am unable to update my windows. It freezes up. I was on the phone with microsoft a long time yesterday trying to get this resolved. He then told me to run a virus scan and it came up with the trojan. He told me that I would have to just reistall everything. That is what I am trying to avoid as I don't have the windows xp CD.

Please run a free online virus scan here (tick the "Auto Clean" checkbox):
http://housecall.antivirus.com/

And a free trojan scan here:
http://www.moosoft.com/

Then see if you're able to download updates.

I have already performed the anti virus scan it says I have the trojan. When I try to run the trojan sweeper it starts making a horn like sound and saying I have Kernel Fault Check and giving me all these options. I didn't know what option to choose so I just closed out. I tried to look at something in my c drive and my anti virus starts poping up that the file is infected. I don't remember exactly as to what with. Everyone is wanting me to get my microsoft updates. I can't get those updates. I even had microsoft try to help me. NO luck? Does anyone have any suggestions.
