I have just recently run into problems with aaawebsearch... I have tried everything to get rid of it but to no avail. Adaware is able to get to the step where the files are asked to be quarentined, however, it freezes when I click next. Eventually a msg pops up saying my virtual memory is too low and i have to terminate Adaware before it actually fixes anything. Spybot detects several problems including one saying "Z-Demon error" during the scan and stops it halfway through... when I click all to be fixed everything seems fine, but they all appear the next time I restart my computer.

So I finally downloaded Hijackthis, but I am not sure what is good/bad for my system. Thank you very much in advance for your help!

I finally got Adaware to work again and ran all three programs (Adaware, CWSShredder, and Spybot). aaawebsearch still pops up after i reboot though. My new HJT log is below. Thank you!

Everything is working well so far. I was able to find all of the files I was told to delete except ?ttrib.exe. I did, however, find two attrib.exe files in the same folder. I took screen shots but cant fint out how to put them in this reply. One was found in alphabetical order and looked ok, but the other one was at the very end of the folder, and the date created said three days ago (around when I started to experience problems). I also found a file named casino.exe in the folder. I only deteled files from the list you told me to delete though. I did another HJT log and its looking much shorter than before. Thank you for all your help!

Download, run, check for updates, download updates, select all, protect against checked. All done. Check for updates every couple of weeks. If you have any errors running the program like a missing file see the link at the bottom of the javacool page.

These next two steps are optional, but will provide the greatest protection.
