ok back with another issue. i don't know the workings of 98 that well. but i'm having a problem with a computer running windows 98. it's a p2 350mhz. everytime i try and "shutdown" the computer it just reboots instead.

I've tried a ton of things already. like going into the bios and turning off plug and play, test the power management, disabling devices.

the only thing that had any effect was i removed the network card that was installed, and then totally uninstalled the card from the computer. when i did that the computer shut down fine. after putting it back in and windows dectecting new hardware and installing the drivers fine. it wouldn't shut down again. so somehow it must be related to the network card, but short of keeping it out i don't know the solution.

thanks again.

Howdy:

First thing I would do is boot into BIOS and make sure "Wake to Lan" was disabled..
