Hello, I've just recently joined the forums and am not exactly sure as to how to go about this.

In my startup list of applications according to spybot I have begun to find the following:

Located: HK_LM:Run, System service65
command: C:\WINDOWS\etb\pokapoka65.exe
file:

Located: HK_CU:Run, ctfmon.exe
command: C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe
file: C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe
size: 15360
MD5: 24232996a38c0b0cf151c2140ae29fc8

The pokapoka65 is recent and has added a toolbar to my internet explorer browser and occasionally brings a pop up box that is just white but is titled "windows internet explorer - advertisement." Also, it sent a text to everyone on my AIM buddy list including to my phone it sent two. It closes each of the little tabbed groups and slows the process down.

The other related to "cool web search" or something of that nature I continue to delete from the list but it usually returns after i have restarted my computer.

I've already ran my spyboy scan and ad-aware scan. I'm not sure what else to do. Whatever information that you can give to me to get rid of these or whatever it is that i can do to help you just let me know as soon as you can.

All help is greatly appriciated. Thank you.

Hey there.

I began to follow all of the instructions on the link that you provided. I did the clean up! program to delete all temp files. Check. I had ad-aware and selected the options that the link advised. The only problem was that when I tried to do a scan with ad-aware, be it full or custom, i got the "blue screen of death." You know, blue screen white letters, scary.

I understand that you attempt to help many people and I greatly appriciate the time that you guys take, but at the moment I can't finish you're instructions, where should I go to now?

Thanks.

Just a quick question before I go through with eveything. I've done the ewido scan in safe mode. When you say to emove the logictech protocols and you say evey instance do you mean all of the 20 or whatever of them?

Also, I might still be connected to the internet through my wireless connection in my laptop. Should this be tuned off, and if so, how.

I don't seem to be getting the popups anymore but the activescan didn't finish at first for some reason. The computer seems to running better startup I believe is back to a better speed as well.

Anything else that I should do?

For the most part I'd say everything is better. I still have a "cool web search" related parasite hijacking thingy in my startup list in spybot, but nothing seems to be popping up or sending random text messages. Thank you for all of your help.

Go ahead and post exactly what it says, I can almost assure you it is an empty key in the registry.
