Repair with recovery console

When doing a system recovery I know what I should do and yet what is this first option that is given when one boots up with a XP install disk "Repair with recovery console", which anyway one ignores for the first optioin above, then F8, then repair system.

Reovery console is used to repair windows just like the repair option, but doesn't reinstall windows. I use this myself when a computer gets a boot-sector virus on it and it keeps BSOD-ing when booting up. Very helpful tool if you know what you are doing.
