Hey I cannot download MSN Messenger, from the man website.

It shows up with a red circle with a white X inside. When i click on manually download it says that page cannot be displayed.

I have had the same thing many times. My fix is to use a download mamager such as LeachGet 2004 (2004 has no restrictions and you can't tell the differance between it and 2005) I also have FireFox as my web brozer, it it has an extention call flashgot which make it realy easy to start a download form a stubone link, just right clike the link and chose to flashgot it.

The download uses a ActiveX control,
Are you sure that none of your antivirus\antispyware program is not blocking it.


Also open IE.
Click Tools -> Internet Options, click on the Security tab.
Make sure Internet icon is selected here and click Custom Level.
Make sure the following are enabled:
Binary and script Behaviours.
Run ActiveX controls and plugins.
And Download signed ActiveX controls is set to prompt.


Also try re-registring the ActiveX DLL:
Start -> Run.
Type: regsvr32 actxprxy.dll
Press <enter>
