Hello everyone,

This is actually mumsmenagerie and I've been here before but I am helping out a friend trying to get her computer straightened out.

She cannot access any HTTPS sites from IE. I did a fast sanc throught the forum and looked at some of the other questions and have checked everything that has been posted so far.

One thing that we noticed is that when we type services.msc and look for HTTP ssl to see if it is set for manual - it's not even in the services. SSL 2.0 and 3.0 are enabled and the LAN is set to automatically detect the settings.

I am coming into the middle of this as she had someone else look at it first and I'm not sure whatall he did - but I do know it involved trying to reinstall parts? of windows(sigh-Some things are just better left to professionals or someone who knows where to go for help).

I am attaching the latest HJT log to hopefully give someone a starting point as to what may have happened and how to get it corrected. She has had several virus problems in the past that I have unjammed so a good checking over wouldn't hurt in any case.

To get back HTTP SSL service in services.msc; Download the attachment.
Its a ZIP file, unzip the http_ssl.reg file inside. Double-click on the http_ssl.reg file to merge it with the registry.
Reboot you PC and try again.
