I reinstalled xp now my harddrive shows up as being a 16 gig when it is a 40 gig how can i correct this... hopefully without reformating? thanks in advance

Formatted, fresh install of XP Pro , Sony 260DS, P3, 40 Gig HDD,MB Asustek Model MEW Formatted with restore disk.

Hi,

When you say "reinstalled XP" was it a repair installation or did you reformat your hard drive and reinstall XP?

We need a lot more info before we can be of any help. What is the make/model of your machine & motherboard? What software did you use to partition and format the drive, and what is it's make?
