i didnt check for cd
but i think he said that he had windows xp ever since he had it O.o
yeah i find it strange
but that crappy emachine is pretty fast with a celeron processor and those crappy features.
its an ok comp, but it just overloaded like crazy and he got viruses from playing around too much with friends on aim...dats his story -_-
all i ask is for a solution that doesnt require even more money plz...

There isn't a solution unless your friend buys a legit version of XP and installs it, because eMachines doesn't support machines it made 6 years ago so there's no way you can get any recovery cd's unfortunately.

spend money on a new xp...so there is no way of using the original restore
and also, he says its not even letting him boot from cd
