Starting a week ago, my IExplore has been crashing. It only happens on certain sites (I dont understand that one at all). I'm able to visit this site, but not others (espn.com, weather.com, yahoo email, etc.)

In an effort to fix the problem, I have run Ad-Aware (it only found about 5 trackers), I have run the CWShredder, and have run a virus scan from House Call. I even made a post similar to this one days ago, but it has fallen into the old pages of the boards. So, again, here is my HijackThis log, thank you for any help at all :tazz:

You log looks clean. Which sites can you not visit? Were you ever able to visit them before? What is the exact error you get when visiting them? Try resetting your Hosts file also, this may help:

Reset your host file. Click Here to download HostsFileReader. To reset the host file to default, simply open the program, click the "reset default" button, and confirm the changes.

There is no specific error, just "IExplore has encountered an error and needs to close" message. I can't pinpoint all the sites it closes on, but to name a few: espn.com, weather.com, my yahoo e-mail account, and random things that I get from google. There doesnt seem to be any rhyme or reason to which ones work and which ones don't.

Thank you for responding to my topic though, I definately learned some new things :tazz:

You may wish to print out a copy of these instructions to follow while you complete this procedure. Please save Hijack This in a permanent folder (i.e. C:\HJT). This ensures backups are saved and accessible.
Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

O2 - BHO: sscplasp - {9DA7E809-E9DE-5004-6745-527ED98BF9E6} - E:\WINDOWS\system32\SSCplASP.dll

Please reboot into safe mode (continually tap the F8 key while your system is starting, select Safe Mode from the menu). Be sure you're able to view hidden files, and remove the following files in bold (if found):

E:\WINDOWS\system32\SSCplASP.dll

Reboot normally and post new log. Hopefully it stays gone and fixes the problem. Let me know.
