Hi,

I have Windows XP home edition with SP1.

My computer has been infected by "about:blank"

I have tried all of your suggestions in the link below, but so far, no luck.

http://www.geekstogo...?showtopic=2852

I have re-installed Windows XP, but it did not help.

Few months ago, when I had Windows 98, I also had to deal with this "about:blank". However, by upgrading Win98 to XP, I was able to get rid of it.

PLEASE HELP ME !!!

I think I have finally removed my Spyware "about:blank"

Here are the steps:

1. Delete all the cookies and temp files from IE.

2. Download "XoftSpy" from the link below.

http://www.xoftspy.com/

This software allows you a free download. Once you run it, you can find all the bad files, but to remove the files, you need to purchase the software.

I started Scanning and once I found the bad files, I manually removed them from the Windows registry and any other places.

3. Empty the recycle bin.
4. Run "HijackThis" and after scanning, remove all the entries you find.

5. Reboot your PC.

6. Change your IE home page from "about:blank" to any desired web page, and everthing should be fine.

My current log file from "HijackThis"
