Run Hijack This and click on scan. The following items need to be fixed -

Sidenote: When I start up my computer it sticks on the welcome page until I hit control-alt-delete and then it loads up without shutting anything down, Very Odd.

I got this message when I ran HiJack this, all the files deleted though, I believe:

Click on Start ---> Settings ---> Control panel. Double click on Java. Click on Update tab ---> Update Now button.


2) Clear Temp files

Run Internet Explorer. Click on Tools ---> Internet Options ----> "delete files". Check the box -"delete all offline content" and then hit OK.


3) Clean the Registry

Please download WebRoot SpySweeper from here:

(It's a 2 week trial)

Click the "Free Trial" link on the right - next to "SpySweeper for Home Computers".
On the next page, click the "Free Trial" button.
Download it and install it.
When you open the program, it will prompt you to update to the latest definitions.
Please do so, then click "Sweep Now"
Then click the "Start" button.
When it's done scanning, click the "Next" button.
Remove everything it finds, then save the log - copy the log and paste it here for me.

I did all of the above. When I downloaded spy sweeper it states that I have already done my free trial, which I have. Is there another program I could use? or a way to get spysweeper to let me have another trial?

Do you have spy sweeper installed on your PC ??

If so then uninstall it and then redownload and install it. You should be able to get a fresh trial period of it.

I did what you asked before and I received "Your trial period expires in: EXPIRED" , again It will not let me run a scan because its expired.

Hi, yeah, When I start up my computer it sticks on the welcome page until I hit control-alt-delete and then it loads up without bringing up the CTRL ALT DELETE box. If I do not hit control alt delete, then it sticks on the welcome page and doesn't move from it???

Download TweakUI.exe.

There are two TweakUI's listed - TWeakUI and TweakUI for Itanium based systems. Download "TweakUI".

Run TweakUI. Click on the + sign next to Nogon. Click on Autologon. Check the box next to "Log on automatically at system Startup". Set the user ID and the password.

Reboot the PC and let me know if it still PC still sticks to the welcome page.

Sorry it took so long for me to get backto you.
I did what you said and received these messages at the login page when I start up:

The system could not log you on. Make sure your User Name and domain are correct, then type your password again. Letters in passwords must be typed using the correct case.

Then when I click ok, it says:

Your system has no paging file, or the paging file is too small. To fix this problem, go to System in the Control Panel, Click on the Advanced tab, and under Performance click Settings. On the Advanced Tab, click Change. Click "Custom size" and then type an initial or maximum paging full size.

The problem is that I am on Windows XP and I cannot find any system file in my control panel like they say I should.

1) Did you give the right login ID and password in TweakUI ???


2) System can also be accessed by right click on "My Computer" on your desktop and then clicking on Properties.


3) If this doesnt work for you, then disable the feature in TweakUI.
