I use the belarc advisor frequentlly
ad-awawre
x-cleaner
microsoft anti spyware
avast
clean uo
reg repair
adv. disk cleaner
fjt
xp-2 firewall
clam-win
and i log off and turn off after each session,
It's an old clunker on dial up,we have no public utilities except elec, So dial up is pretty much all I cam afford. But regular maintance seems to keep everyrhing in good shape. All the security in the world wont do a thing if you don't work with it and understand what it does and does not do,Also note that some programs will interfere with other installatons. The more interference you can deal with and understand can only make the computer a better more comfortablr tool to use.
Thanx to the admin. for a place the needy and desperate to come to!

That is not all Zone Alarm does.
I helps also prevent trojans accessing the internet if you have it on your system, monitors traffic incomming and outgoing etc. AND (my fav) Stealths your computer on the internet etc.

hmmm... seems almost all of you are using the same programs. Which, in essesence is the problem with windows its self, when something becomes popular or widely used, the BAD GUYS usually write things and code differently to circumvent the popular security, which basically makes this a viscious cycle. Just my 2 cents
BTW
Zone Alarm
MS Anti Spyware BETA
SG
SB
AVG Free
Firefox
Thunderbird
Common Sense- thats the key though, oh and stay off of those nasty warez sites.
