[ScorchedEarth]

Well, I've tried and tried to eradicate the endless flow of spyware and everything onto my computer and but something always manages to get by. I have had trouble with Aurora a trojan called Nameshifter and others oens that popup frm time to time. Sometimes it looks as though i've gotten rid of em but sometime after that they come on on microsoft antispyware and such. i have read previous psots about aurora and others and followed thsoe directions. Still, aurora haunts me so help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks. The name that aurora was referred to in other posts ( something like dinst) doesnt appear on hijack log anymore but i think aurora is still somewhere on my comp. I also belive i have other things lurking in the shadows of my comp. EDIT: after another run of microsoft antispyware, aurora appeared and i killed it, so since then there has been no sign of aurora from many of the different scans i use. It cant hurt to jsu run over the hijack log provided if you ahve time plz. there might be something else lurking.

No problem about the delay. I pulverised aurora like a thousand times, so im thinking its pretty obliterated by now but im gonna post a hijack log anyhow. Thanks

We have some work to do here so lets get started

I see you have been infected by malware. This will take a few steps to remove
Please follow the directions as closely as you can . Lets begin

You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files

Once the updates are installed Close Ewido

Download and install CleanUp! Here
but do not run it yet.
*NOTE* Cleanup deletes EVERYTHING out of temp/temporary folders and does not make backups.

1.Download the latest version of Ad-Aware (Ad-Aware SE Build 1.06r1) from here.

Install Ad-Aware using the default options


2. Download the VX2 Cleaner Plug-in Here

Then install vx2cleaner, using all the defaults there as well.

3. Run Ad-Aware
*Update to the latest definitions
*Then click on Add-ons in the lefthand column.
*Select VX2 Cleaner V2.0 and click Run Tool. Click "OK".
*If something is found, click "Clean" as in the directions given.
*Click "Close", and EXIT Ad-Aware.
4. Reboot your PC and run Ad-Aware again.
*This time, click on the Start button in Ad-Aware
*Select "Perform smart system scan" and click Next.
*Once the scan finishes, click "Next" again.
*Select all objects found ("right click anywhere in the list of found objects and *click "Select All Objects").
*Click "Next" one more time, then "OK" to confirm the removal.
*You will be prompted to set Ad-Aware to run on reboot, click "OK".
*Exit Ad-Aware
REBOOT your PC into safemode
Please reboot into safe mode Safe mode(continually tap the F8 key while your system is starting, select Safe Mode from the menu).

Using windows explorer( right click start, left click explore)
Search for and delete these files

C:\WINDOWS\mfwdkfwj.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\xxvspx.exe
C:\WINDOWS\rinkvyl.exe
c:\windows\system32\owgxnas.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\exp.exe
c:\windows\system32\tqlxgcp.exe

When Ad-Aware starts up, click on "Start", then "Next".
Follow the steps above if anything is found, or click "Finish", then EXIT Ad-Aware.

Now run cleanup

Open Ewido
:

• Click on scanner
• Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
• You will be prompted to clean the first infection.
• Select "Perform action on all infections", then proceed.
• Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
• Click Save report.
• Save the report .txt file to your desktop or a location where you can find it easily.

Please re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.

Please re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.

Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked. Reboot into safe mode.

Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.


Please delete these files using Windows Explorer(if present):

C:\WINDOWS\System32\svhost32.exe<<< Please note the spelling do not delete svchost
C:\WINDOWS\mfwdkfwj.exe

After that, Reboot.

Please run this online virus scan:
Panda Active Scan You need to use Internet Explorer for this scan.

• Once you get to the Panda site, scroll down a bit and click on Scan your PC
• A new window will appear; click on Check Now!
• A new window will appear; fill in the boxes (Country, State, email addy)

Click "Open the Misc Tools section"
Click "Delete a file on reboot..."
In the "Enter file to delete on reboot..." window, navigate to:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\SHAgentNew.dll

And select the file

SHAgentNew.dll

Then click Open. After you click Open, HiJackThis will ask you if you want to restart your computer now. Click no

Here are some tips, to reduce the potential for spyware infection in the future, I strongly recommend installing the following applications:

Detect and Remove Programs:

• How to use Ad-Aware to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Ad-Aware.
• How to use Spybot to remove Spyware <= If you suspect that you have spyware installed on your computer, here are instructions on how to download, install and then use Spybot. Similar to Ad-Aware, I strongly recommend both to catch most spyware.

Prevention Programs:

• Spywareblaster <= SpywareBlaster will prevent spyware from being installed.
• Spywareguard <= SpywareGuard offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts.
• IE/Spyad <= IE/Spyad places over 4000 websites and domains in the IE Restricted list which will severely impair attempts to infect your system. It basically prevents any downloads (Cookies etc) from the sites listed, although you will still be able to connect to the sites.
• MVPS Hosts file <= The MVPS Hosts file replaces your current HOSTS file with one containing well know ad sites etc. Basically, this prevents your coputer from connecting to those sites by redirecting them to 127.0.0.1 which is your local computer
• Google Toolbar <= Get the free google toolbar to help stop pop up windows.

Other necessary Programs:

• AntiVirus Program<= An AntiVirus program is a must! Whether it is a free version like AVG or Anti-Vir, or a shareware version like Norton or Kapersky, this is a must have.
• Firewall<= A firewall is definatley a must have. Two good free versions are Sygate and ZoneLabs.
• More Secure Browser<= Internet Explorer is not the most secure and best browser. There are safer and better alternatives available. I recommend Firefox, however Opera and SlimBrowsers are good as well.
