Download and unzip BFUzip from http://computercops..../Merijn/bfu.zip
Run the program and click the Web button as shown here:
Posted Image

Use this URL to copy into the address bar of the Download script window:
http://metallica.geekstogo.com/p2pnetwork.bfu

Execute the script by clicking the Execute button.

If you have any quetions about the use of BFU please read here:
http://metallica.gee...structions.html

Download LQfix.exe and place it on your desktop.
Doubleclick LQfix.exe and click install.
Leave the default settings. If you change them, the fix will fail.
Make sure 'Launch LQfix' is checked. After clicking finish in the install, the fix will start.
Follow the prompts on the screen.
Your system will reboot afterwards.
Please be patient after reboot, because there is a script running in the background.

Post a new HijackThis log when you are done.

Check the following items in HijackThis.
Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

Download WinPFind.zip and unzip the contents to the C:\ folder.

Start in Safe Mode Using the F8 method:
  • Restart the computer.
  • As soon as the BIOS is loaded begin tapping the F8 key until the boot menu appears.
  • Use the arrow keys to select the Safe Mode menu item.
  • Press the Enter key.
Locate the c:\winpfind\winpfind.exe file and double-click it to run it. Now click the Start Scan button to begin the scan.

When the scan is complete reboot normally and post the WinPFind.txt file (located in the WinPFind folder)

FYI:
That is a standard answer. We rather tell people twice then leave them in the dark.

But if you wish to be helped by someone less elaborate, just let me know.

No, I just figured it was a waste of your time and I just figured it was a waste of your time, but its ok.

Anwyays I did what you said and I got this:

WARNING: not all files found by this scanner are bad. Consult with a knowledgable person before proceeding.

If you see a message in the titlebar saying "Not responding..." you can ignore it. Windows somethimes displays this message due to the high volume of disk I/O. As long as the hard disk light is flashing, the program is still working properly.

Good job. Let's get rid of the Qoologic infection.

But first can you do me a favor and surf to:
http://www.thespykil...x.php?topic=5.0
Follow the instructions there to upload
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\wuauclt.dll
I'd like to compare it with a valid copy to see what they changed.

Copy the part in bold below into notepad and save it as ConMenu.reg
Set Filetype to "all files"

REGEDIT4

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\fyxxkqtq]

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{08f3a96b-6c36-4df9-8cb2-0a070bbbc721}]

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer\Run]
"twcf.exe"=-
"bbpqpjj.exe"=-

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"winsync"=-

We will use this file later on.

*Click Here to download Killbox by Option^Explicit.
*Extract the program to your desktop and double-click on its folder, then double-click on Killbox.exe to start the program.
*In the killbox program, select the Delete on Reboot option.
*Copy the file names below to the clipboard by highlighting them and pressing Control-C:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\golden513.dll
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\jaaak.dll
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\mc-58-12-0000079.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ssssdgk.dll
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\naii.exe

*Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose "Paste from Clipboard".
*Click the red-and-white "Delete File" button. Click "Yes" at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click "No" at the Pending Operations prompt.

When te computer reboots, make sure it goes into safe mode. :tazz:

Doubleclick ConMenu.reg and confirm you want to merge it with the registry.

Then boot back to normal and post a new HijackThis log.

Yuck. :tazz:

Check the following items in HijackThis.
Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [winsync] C:\WINDOWS\system32\atiizu.exe reg_run

Reboot and check if it stays away.

Then please surf to:
http://virusscan.jotti.org/
and upload this file:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\vgactl.cpl
Let me know the results.

I made a script to disable this one.

Start BFU.exe and use this URL to copy into the address bar of the Download script window:
http://metallica.geekstogo.com/qoologic.bfu

Make sure all explorer windows are closed.
Execute the script by clicking the Execute button.
Don't be startled when your Taskbar and desktop disappear for a short while, the script unloads the explorer shell. They will return quickly.

Then run WinPFind again. Post the log so we can see what else needs to be fixed.

Regards,
