hey guys...
working on a friends computer - he wanted me to install a sound card on his computer (creative sound blaster live 5.1)....well i got it put in and rebooted ....and the mobo started beeping (constantly) and there was no video display. did some research and found out that the beeping sequence meant that there was a video prob (big suprise).

anyways, ive reset the video card and the RAM several times - no luck. so, i thought the video card (agp) was bad...but i tried it on a different machine and it worked fine. tested the monitor - it was fine. there was only one port that i could put the video card into - so putting it in a different slot is a no go.

i know that i should have disabled the onboard sound card in bios - but it slipped my mind and I know there might be a IRQ conflict. But again - i try those options unless i have video - which i dont.

Please help!!

I would remove the sound card that you put in a reboot the system. If the problem is fix then go in to the BIOS and disable the sound. If there is no option in the BIOS then go into the Device Manager, and disable it there. Shutdown, and install the new sound card again. Hope that this helps.
