my frend has a medion laptop he wants to format c but he cant get the pc to boot from the disk and since i know nothing about laptops i hope someone here can help me
it seems it doesnt have the option to boot from disk.

When you say "boot from the disk" are you referring to the XP cd or a boot floppy??

Have you gone into BIOS to see what the boot options were set at??

thats the problem it seems were not able to get in the bios to change that
i cant get in the bios

The manual that came with the laptop should give you that info.. If not, most systems use the <delete> key during POST to get into BIOS..

Just watch the screen as it is booting.. it should tell you there what key to press to enter "setup" (BIOS) !!
