I want you to go in manually and ensure these are getting deleted. Make sure you note anyone that won't let you delete it.

If you use Windows XP, Go to My Computer->Tools->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that Show hidden files and folders is enabled. Also make sure that the System Files and Folders are showing/visible also.

Reboot into safe mode.

Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode

Please remove the following folders using Windows Explorer (if present):

C:\PROGRAM FILES\Media Access
C:\Documents and Settings\Nick\Favorites\ Free Hidden Cams World - Realtime.url

Please remove just the files from the following paths using Windows Explorer (if present):

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\paydial.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\paytime.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\thun.dll
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\winttr.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\QBUninstaller.exe
C:\WINDOWS\INF\banner.inf
C:\WINDOWS\hisistheurls.exe
C:\WINDOWS\ms2.exe

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\mxdefdrv.sys
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\pshwr.exe

In my windows folder I found a file named qshzlpoylcg. It's icon was the icon of all my popups, and it's description was aurora so I deleted that too >_>

Found another file like the above named bestoffers, deleted
Found "ipod nano 1" in system32, deleted

and if I right click on crap, it still like reboots me, so I am dragging it into the recyle bin and emptying that.

Will be adding HJT this from my laptop in a second.

Let me see the active scan when u got a chance :tazz:

Download WinPFind and extract it to your C:\ folder. This will create a folder called WinPFind in the C:\ folder.
don't do anything with it yet.

boot into safe mode

Inside c:\WinPFind is a file called WinPFind.exe. Double-click on this file to launch the program. Once it is launched, click on the Start Scan button and wait for it to finish. This program will scan large amounts of files on your computer for known patterns so please be patient while it works as it can take a while, upwards to 30 minutes or more.

reboot

Please post the winpfind log

Please RIGHT-CLICK HERE to download Silent Runner's.
  • Save it to the desktop.
  • Run Silent Runner's by doubleclicking the "Silent Runners" icon on your desktop.
  • You will receive a prompt:
    • Do you want to skip supplementary searches?
      click NO
  • You will see a text file appear on the desktop - it's not done, let it run (it won't appear to be doing anything!)
  • Once you receive the prompt All Done!, open the text file on the desktop, copy that entire log, and paste it here.
*NOTE* If you receive any warning message about scripts, please choose to allow the script to run.

Ugh, I hate these long scans! >_<

While we're here. I have a couple of questions for you.

I am currently looking at computers for my career, what do you think is gonna have more openings in the future jobwise, hardware, as in actually working on the computer itself, programmers, c++, java, etc. Or like this, technical help?

Also, can you explain the program you have here? I forgot exactly what it was, avhoir explained it to me once, but it was awhile ago.

Are you guys related at all to geeksquad?

WARNING: not all files found by this scanner are bad. Consult with a knowledgable person before proceeding.

If you see a message in the titlebar saying "Not responding..." you can ignore it. Windows somethimes displays this message due to the high volume of disk I/O. As long as the hard disk light is flashing, the program is still working properly.

The whole reason I am doing this is because my games will not load(diablo2 and warcraft 3). my cd drive works(if you look at my first page) I did all the diagnostics and ran the diagnostics off of CDs, and when I put in my d2 or wc3 cd, the window opens up asking if I want to play, readme, uninstall, etc. When I hit play, or try to open it, it says. . . gimme a second lemme try.

CD-ROM drive error

Diablo II failed to run.
Please make sure your Diablo II Expansion Disc is in your CD-ROM drive, then click on `Retry`.

When I went through the help phone at dell, and finished my cd drive diagnostics, I was transfered to software, and I described this to her and that a couple of days before that, I tried to install command and concquor, and the install window came up, but then EVERYTHING lagged like no tommorrow, and my disk started making almost a grinding sound(More like it was hitting something every time it spun).

She said it was spyware and then tried to proceed to explain to me what spyware was like I was 2 years old, and literally tried to force me into paying them for their techincal expert. -.-;;

It looks like its not malware. We have cleaned pretty much everything up, let me take a look at the activescan, and if that comes back clean, I am going to get one of the Trusted Techs to give u a hand.

k, this is taking FOREVER, for some reason. It's going like uber slow. I think it stops when another thing is open though. I had a n64 emulator open, and I think it stops whenever I have that as my active window, so I shut that off, shouldn't take long now.

well I got to call it a nite, work comes early in the morning. If you want, you can post directly in the XP forum with this link.

http://www.geekstogo...2003-NT-f5.html

If you get anything in the activescan log, you can go ahead and manually delete it.
