The last time I shut down my computer and came back the next day to check my email, I entered my password and it pops up what looks like a javascript alert box that has options yes and no, no text or name. If you click yes it logs you out and if you click no it logs you out.

Start the System Restore tool at a command prompt

1. Restart your computer, keep tapping F8 until you get options, select Safe Mode with a command prompt.

2. Log on to your computer with an administrator account or with an account that has administrator credentials.

3. Type the following command at the command prompt, and then press ENTER:

%systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe

4. Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to restore your computer to an earlier state.

If no change, repair XP using this method, which will leave data and settings intact

The window only has the BIG red X and yes and no buttons, clicking either one has the same result- system restart and then the same thing happens again and again----
